2027 Sarasota Calendar
Blackstone Griddle Care
- Make sure the surface is clean; preheat 5–10 minutes and apply a light layer of oil.
- After use, scrape food and grease toward the trap. For stubborn residue, use a small amount of water on the warm surface, then wipe clean.
- Once dry, apply a very thin coat of oil. Empty cooled grease as needed; never pour grease down a drain.
- Do not use soap, household cleaners, bleach or harsh chemicals. Never leave burners unattended.
- Finish: all burners OFF, propane tank OFF, griddle clean/dry/lightly oiled, cover only after completely cool.
Pit Boss Grill + Smoker
- Check grates and fuel. Pellet smoker: approved wood pellets only.
- Preheat before cooking. Keep the lid closed as much as possible while smoking.
- Never leave unattended. Keep children and pets away. Never use water on a grease fire.
- After use, brush grates and check cooled grease collection. Keep hopper and pellets dry.
- Use the normal shutdown/cool-down cycle; do not unplug early. Cover only when completely cool.
Fire Pit Care
Propane Fire Pit
Clear flammables, ensure the control is OFF before slowly opening propane, and never use if you smell propane. Never leave unattended. When finished: flame OFF, propane OFF, allow to cool completely, then cover.
Smokeless Wood-Burning Fire Pit
Use dry seasoned firewood only. Do not overfill or use in strong/gusty winds. Never leave unattended or burning overnight. Fully extinguish before leaving; hot ashes can remain dangerous for many hours.
Never place warm or hot ashes in trash, landscaping or combustible containers. If unsure whether ashes are cold, leave them in the fire pit and contact the hosts.
